Church History
In 1835 a group of believers banded together to form Prairie Baptist Church. The church first met in a log cabin chapel and had services once a month, or when a minister was available. In 1884, a frame building was built to replace the log structure. In 1934, a tornado destroyed the wooden building, leaving only the pulpit left standing. Less than a year later, a new brick building was finished and services resumed. This body of believers has a long history of perseverance and has continued to faithfully minister to the Noblesville community and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over 184 years. Prairie Baptist Church affiliated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches in 1947, and continues to be associated with the GARBC today.
